a bit about me...Hi! I’m James, I’ve been captivated by birds for as long as I can remember which has led to my current position as a PhD student in the Department of Zoology, University of Cambridge, where I am supported by a Whitten Scholarship.
Here, my research focuses on understanding avian brood parasitism, particularly where multiple species of brood parasites occur in sympatry and parasitise multiple species of hosts. To understand these understudied and complex ecological systems, I am using a combination of field-, laboratory- and collections-based methods. However, my research interests extend beyond brood parasitism and you can check out some of my other projects here. I also very much enjoy the collaborative nature of science and the opportunity to learn and work with others. If you might be interested to work together, please reach out! In my spare time, I’m an avid birder and keen naturalist, and enjoy spending as much time as I can outside with my binoculars, camera, sound recording gear, and the eBird app running (my eBird profile). |
